RSS feeds are quite simple things really all that they are, are pages that serve a particular flavor of XML. I have written some basic RSS feeds for work, a good resource on how to do them can be found here: http://www.aspcode.net/articles/l_en-US/t_default/ASP.NET/Creating-an-RSS-feed-for-your-ASP.NET-site_article_277.aspx

and the RSS specification here: http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss

It's dead easy. So the feed does not have to know if you are a member or not, just have the link to the feed on a page that can only be accessed by members.

Well I don't think we have to worry about national security here, but you are right.
In the feeder reader I use  you can set a user name and password for a feed so we should be able to do it the right way.  Wink

I guess it's if smf can do it...
