like we need another reason to be amazed at Crysis,

Hehe yeah saw that. That and the dog demo of Fable2 as well as the spore vids all prove we've still got some great games coming out this year!

The terrain is voxel based so they're able to carve caves and overhangs in the editor. Oh my god. I think that has got to be the most sophisticated editor I've seen in my life.

I wish they would write papers on how they do half the techniques they do in Crysis. Simply amazing cutting edge stuff.

Yeah the cutting in part of the demo was definitely the most impressive part to me. I have been trying to think of a good simple way to implement that kind of thing for a while to no avail.

Chances are those things are proprietary technologies, they don't wanna give it all to their competitors. But many of the techniques are stuff we've seen before or a variation of it. They use DoF, Bloom, etc, and the destructible environments are just physicalized(sp?) parts that stick together normally but when damaged break apart. Although some simpler info on the stuff would be nice. Cheesy
