Here is a new .X file exporter made for Maya7 by Chad Vernon over at C-Unit.

Quote
Supports
  • Vertices
  • Normals
  • Materials
  • Textures
  • Vertex duplication information
  • Vertex colors
  • Tangents
  • Binormals
  • Hierarchies
  • Skinning
  • Multiple animation sets

On his main page he says that one of the key features that sets his apart from the rest is the Multiple Animation sets. The good thing also about this exporter is that it works with a quality free modelling program.

That is really great that development in closely reated areas (like modelling) are being made by people in the same community. Now, Chad does do some pretty impressive modelling and animation himself, so I am sure he had great use for an exporter of this quality. Now if only I can convince him to write one for Blender as that is what my modeller uses Smiley
