Hey guys, was wondering if any of you in your travels through the internets found a web based SVN/CVS application for use on a PHP enbaled (Apache) webserver. I know I could go for an exe app but I don't know if I can get a exe server running on there. So something like what Sourceforge or Codeplex has I guess.
Or if anyone knows a place like SourceForge or Codeplex that offers those kind of services for private projects that aren't to be freely accessible by the public.

... Or do I have to write one myself... Sad

Help would be greatly appreciated. Cheesy

Well I am part of a company that runs personal svn and trac installs for people. Take a look at trac and if you have any questions feel free to contact me at ckey@paranoidferret.com

I couldn't find any finished products for SVN. Here's one for CVS -- it looks so finished, its description is almost unreadable:
http://www.immony.de/PEAR/Versioning/Versioning_CVS_1_1_0_a/Versioning_CVS/docs/devel/Versioning_CVS/tutorial_Versioning_CVS.functions.pkg.html

You'll need a running CVS server; any web interface you find will just be a browser. I'm guessing the server runs some kind of UNIX, so you're not looking for an .exe. At best, you're dealing with package managers that'll take care of it; if all else fails, you can build cvs (and its dependencies) from source.
If you have ssh access to the machine, you might be able to compile and install CVS to somewhere in your home directory, but I doubt the admin(s) would appreciate that kind of initiative (and the port's probably filtered anyway). I'd try talking to whoever's doing your hosting about getting CVS/SVN.

Thats the problem, I cant use Trac either because it requires Python, I need something completely web based that only uses the web pages, I can use asp/asp.net now as well if anyone has something for that.

Mike have you used google code before? Does it let you keep your project closed source?

Found what I was looking for, sure its not hosted on my webspace, but it gives plenty of space and supports private projects.
http://www.assembla.com
Has Trac with SVN, Wiki etc etc everything you should need, and free.

google code lets you set up the users how ever you want to, so only passworded people can get at things. I'm not sure about legally what status the code gets put in, but I'd assume they are pretty flexible about it. My friend luke uses it for his forum software.
