usercontrols over gamewindow and keyboard problem

Hi.

I am having the following problem. I am creating a Scene Editor, by using UserControls and making them to show over the game window. My problem is that I can not use the keyboard to write inside the controls. The mouse clicking works, but not the keyboard.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Windows controls on top of your render window? 

Two suggestions.

Build your own GUI.

or

Use a pop-up window for your controls.

Or, put the XNA game into a panel inside a WinForms app. There were some posts on here about doing that, and Ziggyware has a good article on it. (Tip: See the comments for a better implementation)
