Is it just an impression or mikeschuld's tutorials seems to be stoped? Also he doesn't post here for more than a month. Does anyone know if something happened?

I was going to as the very same question......

If you view his profile he pops on from time to time, I guess he is busy at the moment.

At least the forum is still running.

I can't speak for him, but Mike might be doing exams or similar now, so we'll just have to wait. Maybe this will force him to poke his head out of whatever he is doing and give us an update. Tongue

It is hard to be waiting if we don't for what we are waiting for. Waht if he gave up doing those tutorials?

Then we're stuck with a pretty good forum community. Let's keep it up.

Yep, thats the spirit! Rememeber, everyone is entitled to share their knowledge by providing code samples or even full tutorials, we all learn from each other!

poke my head out eh? :p Well actually yes it has been finals weeks the past couple, but that is no real excuse. I am thinking about putting all the content framework stuff into a tutorial since it has been working quite well for me and gives people a new part of the API to look at. Full time work starts soon as well so I am hoping to throw enough weekend time at XNA code to be able to write up a few things Smiley

Other than work and school I don't have a great excuse for lack of tutorials for a bit, but I promise life on my end has been busy busy (I'll let you know details when they become less fuzzy in my brain lol). I am taking a trip home for mother's day but will be back here working again soon. I do have a few side projects (one of which has me getting the HMEngine to run on XNA over Mono in Linux) but I'll try to slip in time for writing up that next one soon.

As Chr0n1x has said, everyone should feel free to post anything they want here in the forums as Nemo and Daphyd and a few others have been doing quite a bit of to help everyone else out.

My theory -> Mike has acquired a girlfriend.

Anyone gonna deny it?

Hi guys,

I am very new to all this 3D graphics, although I have 9 years of Visual Basic programming under my belt. I am adapting what is in these tutorials to help me, and can I say WOW, fantastic, there are very few sites with as good content as this. Once I get my head around all of this I am hoping to be able to contribute, sites like this need to be kept running.

Keep up all the good work guys, and keep this site going.

Man. All I have to say is that this site has introduced me to more concepts behind XNA and game developing in general, than any other site i have visited. I am currently taking my time and running through the tutorials again since I learn by doing instead of just reading.

So far Ive managed to convert the camera to a FPS style camera and made the controls more fps-ish. Still need to fix that odd z-axis rotating thing. Might figure it out after the last camera tut.

Added a fake "bloom" post-proc shader and a neat emboss shader.

I have the reimers code I adapted to loading my heightmaps and thier textures but I still dont know enough about what this engine will be doing to actually add that in. That and Im still not solid on how all of what the tuts have "works"...so new additions/heavy mods are off limits for me.

I tried merging that quadtree component with it but Im still too much of a noob to understand it properly I think.

All in all this is the only site i have been able to find that actually attacks XNA from a "making a full" engine direction instead of a "bits and pieces which make noobs spend weeks trying to fit together" approach. I enjoy this and would someday like to be able to contribute (but sadly i think im behind the power curve).

I will... I wish!! :p Just a job, not a girlfriend. I have been trying to fit in side time to get things done on here though I promise. It's just going real slow and it's tough to see progress that only happens in bounds.
