I would really like to see something like the octree from the old tutorials, but based on triangles instead of objects!

If there is one thing I can ask for, I think it will be collision detection in 3d. This has been a major issue for me and there is very little information on it online. Not even a sample of a vehicle traversing a random terrain.

Osaforich, the xna-sample "heightmapcollision" and "tankonheightmap" handle nicely the 3d collision and your vehicle on terrain issue... myself am trying to get the lastest one running on a multi-textured terrain I set up a few years ago, just bringing things together  Cool

Collision is a Physics topic. You want either Physics tutorials (might come here) or a Physics Library.

There are a fair few algorithms and there is a sample on Creators Club Online with the exact thing you asked. A Tank traversing terrain.

http://creators.xna.com/en-us/sample/collision3dheightmap

Actually there is an entire series on Collision.

See #5 for vehicle.

I assume you have not visited the Creators Club website. In which case, go there now!

Hmm that's a tough one. I'd say either a GUI system or physics. I don't think a proper physics or ai tutorial could not be done in one go. I think it would need multiple tutorials. A GUI tutorial with more than just buttons and screens (check boxes, combo boxes, etc.) would be good for most people that visit this site I think. The only gui tutorials that I can think of are the creators club and nemo's (for XNA that is). Unless you've had to code your own combo box for a winform I'd say most would benefit from it.

However, if there is an option to spread a physics or ai tutorial over multiple entries, my vote would go for that.

I'd love to see some tutorials on text and control elements like buttons and dropdowns.
I don't see any easy way to do these. Even if it's how to create entry screens for game option selection.

I'd also love to see some particle tutorials.

fsteveB,

the creators club has a nice thing going on, for GUI "screens" just llok for the "racing game" starter kit, many other neat stuff in there to find!!! Cool
