About those topics you had in mind, I cannot decide between the GGR and the particle system. Both seem interesting for me.

About the text and gui additions, well, currently I am working in a form system. So far I've implemented dialogs, buttons, text labels and a bit more. Maybe I can show you when I've finished it (it'll take me some time) and then release it as a tut.
