Seems demands are truely heard, XNA beta2 is going to be released soon, heres hoping the content pipeline is included. Well it seems to be, they sayit will be more of a final release candidate, especially with release only a couple of weeks after!

Update:
Beta 2 is going to be released "Really, Really, Really Soon", and the Z man has a rumor from Code Camp 2 that it will be out by the end of the week.
More news is also due today.

In the meanwhile, check out the beta1 -> beta2 migration guide Dave provides here http://letskilldave.com/archive/2006/10/30/Migrating-an-XNA-Application-from-Beta-1-to-Beta-2.aspx

Plus photos from the codecamps (no powerpoint sorry), that gives us a sneak peek at the new code and api for beta2.
http://www.thezbuffer.com/articles/426.aspx - Code
http://www.thezbuffer.com/articles/427.aspx - Content Pipeline

The code shows an xbox360 starter kit for Spacewars, but 360 functionality will only be with 1.0 of course. Also there is no code difference between the 2. (It may not be in the public beta2 release)
Seems render targets work nicely in this release, so I may be able to get that tutorial done mike!

For the meanwhile, enjoy people!

[EDIT] From the looks of it, there will have to be some changes to the code for the tutorials here before they conform, eg changing to use the new Loadcontent and unloadcontent methods.

Changes to the new version of the API will simply have to be done on the side and posted in their own places. I'll update the originals as time permits.

[EDIT] Um, looking through the new system, you might need a bit more than on the side work to get it up and running, there have been some pretty big changes.

Guess I'll just have to reroll the whole bit then eh? S'ok though, so does everyone else.

... problem 1 has been reached. The damn thing won't install in Vista anymore. Whatever they did was only partially better I guess :p I'll keep trying though.

That's my issue too, once they fix Vista support I'm good to go.

Got it to install.... try installing the VC# Express Service Pack 1 before installing the XNA pack. Went perfectly for me after I did that.
